We have created this step by step guide to help you track down any problems which may be stopping you use AutoConvert’s calling facility.
Following the below steps have been proven to fix 95% of all calling issues that our user experience, to speed up this process for you we have put together a quick guide.
Volume – If you cannot hear the caller please do check the volume on your computer and also on your USB headset if it has a volume control sometimes these can be knocked in error and set to mute. Sounds a very simple fix but it can get the best of us.
Chrome – Are you using Google Chrome? If not please do. We could spend lots of time testing everything we build across lots of different browsers but we would much prefer to concentrate on the one and build you additional functionality to do more deals.
Microphone access – We have created this page autoconvert.co.uk/help/troubleshooting to show you if we have access to what we need access to in order for you to use AutoConvert. If you have a cross on one of these items you need to allow us access, to do this please follow to the next step.
Enabling access to the microphone – By clicking the little lock next to the address bar on your browser you should see below that AutoConvert has access to your microphone, if it doesn’t then we need to enable this using the step below.
If this does not show up in the box above, then we need to click on site settings at the bottom of the above menu to view this.
Once you click this you should be navigated to a settings page, please ensure microphone is set to "Allow"
Sounds settings – Should the above not resolve your problems its time to check what device you computers operating software is using for your microphone and audio. We often see old devices in here. To do this please follow the steps, we have added a image with the step's illustrated for you also.
- Search windows for "Sound settings" as below.
- Click sounds settings to open the settings page.
Once you are in the sound settings area you will see what device your computer is using for a microphone and audio, please ensure the correct device is selected in these drop down boxes (As marked below in point 1 & 2). 3 will also allow you to run a test with windows to check your microphone is working correctly as you expect.
Microphone test – A quick way to check your microphone is working is to run a quick test using https://www.onlinemictest.com/.
Twilio test page – Should you still be experiencing problems with calling then please visit this website which will run a test for you. https://networktest.twilio.com/ Please send the results of this test once it has finished running into support and we will look to assist you further.
